Bay Area Vipassana Biological Resources Assessment

EMC Planning Group prepared a biological resources assessment for a proposed meditation retreat center on 20 acres in unincorporated Santa Clara County, west of Gilroy. An EMC Planning Group biologist conducted a field survey, and reviewed site plans, aerial photographs, and resource agency databases. The assessment addressed the following resources: special-status plant species, American badger, California tiger salamander, California red-legged frog, western pond turtle, burrowing owl, nesting migratory birds and raptors, special-status bat species, natural communities, jurisdiction wetlands, wildlife movement corridors, and the requirements of the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Plan.
