Mr. Lawson joined the firm in 2025. His current responsibilities include preparation of environmental review documentation in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). His professional expertise spans a range of environmental and
land-use planning project types including CEQA compliance, coastal and environmental permitting, city contract planning, land acquisition and entitlements, preparation of housing elements, and California Department of Drinking Water State Revolving Fund projects. Technical proficiencies include CalEEMod and extensive experience with ESRI ArcGIS mapping.

Prior to working for EMC Planning Group, Mr. Lawson worked as an Assistant Planner for another private sector firm assisting with land use and environmental planning projects. While earning his M.C.R.P., he worked on current and environmental planning projects for the County of San Luis Obispo as a Planning Assistant Intern, and for the Cal Poly Corporation/Central Coast Collaborative 4C as a Graduate Student Research Assistant.
